Responsibilities
As a SECRETARY (OA) at the GS-0318-7 some of your typical work assignments may include:
• Routinely composes non-technical correspondence, such as office procedures, requests for information concerning the organization's programs, letters of acknowledgment, commendation, or notification.
• Independently consolidates and finalizes information for various reports in accordance with established reporting procedures and informs supervisor of important matters and deadlines.
• Anticipate need for information, gathers and summarizes information from files, and prepares material/documents for supervisor's use in responding to inquiries.
• Receive and screen all publications, regulations, and directives directed to the Commander and brings to the Commander's attention those elements affecting the Commander's area of jurisdiction.
• Monitors visitors including general officers, distinguished Air Force and Department of Defense (DoD) visitors, members of Congress and Congressional representatives, foreign dignitaries, high ranking personnel from other government agencies.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-07 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service:
• Preparing a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring personal and executive correspondence, reports.
• Reviewing and processing incoming and outgoing correspondence, reports, and other materials submitted for the Commander's signature.
• Receiving telephone calls, greeting visitors and ascertains the nature of the calls or visits
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this position.
