Job Purpose
The Training Associate will be completing administrative functions for the Employee Development Team related to data entry, report generation, and clerical work through the USG Learning Center and One Vision. This position supports the Safety and Training Directors and coordinates / conducts training with various departments to include New Hire, OSHA, LEAD, and other appropriate training courses. Additionally, this position will track and coordinate training for the MasTec Electrical Apprenticeship Trainees.
Cooperative Responsibilities
The Training Associate may have cooperative (shared) administrative roles with the Safety Department to facilitate and support OSHA Outreach trainers with registration, certification and distribution of certificates of training completions, and management of employees' recurrent training renewals. The role shall support preparation of training materials, skills laboratories, coordination and scheduling of facilities for seminars, conferences, and training venues. The role shall provide safety data management system input of safety-related incidents, property and utility damage claims management. The role shall also provide recordkeeping and file management.
Essential Functions
• Prioritize and execute training programs and courses.
• Track and coordinate training for the Electrical Apprenticeship trainees.
• Generate reports and dashboards to be published.
• Ensure training completion rosters are accurate in the Learning Management System
• Support the functionality and usability of the Training Director's SharePoint site.
• Data input and management in the One Vision safety data management system
• Maintain control of confidential employee and business sensitive information
• Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• A High School Diploma, or equivalent.
• Comfortable presenting information in front of groups up to 30 people.
• Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.
• Ability to operate office equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience in a supervisory role.
• Previous experience with a Learning Management System and/or Safety Data Management System.
• Certified OSHA outreach instructor.
• First-Aid Medic/CPR certified
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and scanners. In addition to this equipment, projectors and other presentation devices will be used.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is primarily sedentary, with some filing or lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 20 pounds. However, on occasion, field or outdoor exposures may be encountered at training sites or facilities.
Some business travel (< 35%) may be required for special events or field training support.
