This position is responsible for managing, retaining and expanding a portfolio of commercial clients in the Tampa/Southwest Florida market with primary emphasis on growing client relationships and sales of First American Bank (FAB) products.
Duties & Responsibilities
SALES:
Identify and generate new Commercial Banking, Private Client and Wealth Management client relationships through sales calls, referrals and networking both internally and externally.
Maintain and expand relationships with professional firms in the regional market, including accountants, lawyers, real estate agents, etc. to introduce FAB services.
PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT:
Support a portfolio as assigned to retain and expand the client relationships through regular contact and responsive service.
As needed, identify and develop Relationship Managers and Associates to support growth.
OTHER:
Collaborate and build relationships with other lines of business to increase market share of all First American Bank products and services.
Work closely with Relationship Managers and Associates, as requested, to insure their satisfactory performance and career progression.
As needed, communicate with the headquarters office to coordinate all projects in the regional market.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required; concentration in finance or accounting strongly preferred.
A minimum of 15 years of experience in commercial lending required.
Previous supervisory responsibility required.
Extensive experience in credit analysis, documentation and pricing of loans.
Demonstrated ability to generate new business in the Tampa/Southwest Florida market.
Advanced analytical expertise.
Thorough understanding of all bank policies and procedures.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong negotiation skills.
Strong leadership qualities.
Demonstrated sales ability.
Fundamental business computer aptitude with experience in word processing and spreadsheet applications (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, etc.) required.
This position requires regular travel by car to various locations throughout the Bank's Florida market.
Occasional out-of-state travel may be required.
Typical schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:30AM-5:00PM.  Additional hours may be required as workload dictates.
