Job Description
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
• Supervise inmates
• Attend shift briefing to discuss incidents, problems, etc.
• Conducting routine and special surveillance of inmates
• Perform head counts
• Respond to emergency situations
• Potential for necessary hands-on altercations and/or restraining inmates
• Monitoring and responding to radio traffic
• Ensure inmates follow the rules of the facility
• Distribute & pickup food trays
• Pat down and strip search inmates
• Take inmate property at intake
• Booking, bonding and control room duties
• Assist in cell searches
• Report writing
• Computer skills
• Transport inmates inside and outside facilities
• Hospital security
• Attend required training
• Any duties assigned by supervisors in accordance with the law and the needs of the facility
• Need to be flexible and available for weekends and all three shifts
• Will be on feet and moving for majority of shift
• Very fast-paced environment, intense activity for short periods of time
• Physical demands: some lifting, pulling/pushing, bending, stretching, reaching, running, kneeling
• Direct Exposure to Pepper Spray/Oleoresin Capsicum
• Exposure to Taser probe application
• Required to pass weapons training

Salary: $12.00/hour for Control Room Operators, and $15.00 to $16.00/hour for full-time hazardous deputies
