Job Description
Alluvion is currently hiring for a Legal Assistant in the downtown Tampa FL area.
This is a Direct Hire opportunity.
Qualifications:
• 10-15 years' experience as a legal assistant
• Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
• Customer service oriented
• Professional phone etiquette
• Organized with a strong attention to detail
• Medical Negligence experience highly preferred
• Ability to multi-task, and work both within a team and independently
• Solid understanding of the plaintiff personal injury and/or medical malpractice legal process
• Knowledge & prior experience with vehicular accidents and medical negligence cases
• Bilingual (Spanish) a plus but not required
Responsibilities:
• Manage personal injury and medical malpractice legal files from onset of matter through settlement or until transferred to litigation team.
• Perform new case intakes and meet with clients from onset of case throughout its lifecycle.
• Manage the calendar of up to three attorneys
• Prepare medical malpractice & personal injury cases from inception to trial
• Draft pleadings, motions, orders and correspondence
• Answering and propounding discovery
• Preparing for hearings, depositions, mediations and trials
• Preparing trial exhibits, trial notebooks; assisting with jury instructions
• Other litigation paralegal duties
• Schedule depositions, hearings, and various other legal activities for 1 attorney
• Maintaining contact with former clients to secure repeat business
• Electronic and physical records maintenance.
