JOB SUMMARY: This is a Tax Specialist I position in the General Tax Administration Program, Receivables Management Field Operations Collection Process, in the Tampa service center. The incumbent provides guidance on Florida tax statutes and Department policies and procedures. The incumbent responds to phone inquiries, assists with registering new business entities, analyzes and reviews tax situations and returns, and determines tax liabilities. The incumbent collects receivables either in person, over the phone or at the taxpayers business location. The incumbent assists in training and educating the public and Department employees.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue.
• Sixteen months of experience collecting tax obligations within the General Tax Administration.
• Experience communicating with taxpayers regarding pre-warrant and post-warrant collections within the General Tax Administration.

NOTES:
• The hiring salary for this position generally will not exceed  $3,259.00 monthly.
• This position may require overnight travel to various locations throughout Florida utilizing your own means of transportation.
• This position requires that you meet with taxpayers at their place of business and possibly assess them for past due liabilities.
• Sometimes this position requires overtime (this may include weekends).
SKILLS VERIFICATION TEST: All candidates who meet the screening criteria/minimum job requirements will be required to take a Skills Verification Test. Candidates must receive a score of at least 70% to be considered further.
