USF Information Technology (USF IT) provides technology services and support for the University of South Florida including the USF institutions in Tampa (including USF Health), St. Petersburg and Sarasota-Manatee. The IT team, led by the Vice President and CIO, provides the following services: Administrative Services, Client Support, Communication Services, Teaching and Learning, Analytics and Reporting, Mobile and Web Services, Consulting Services, Cybersecurity Service and Research Technologies. POSITION SUMMARY:
This System Administrator position will be responsible for triaging incoming service incidents and providing tier 3 support to the Service desk as well as customers. In addition, this position will support and assist with the management of enterprise level systems for all email and Office 365 services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Triages incoming service requests and works to resolve incidents. Escalates issues that require additional assistance as necessary,work with senior team members to arrive at a resolution.
• Assists in the administration of email, Teams and other service offerings within Office 365. This includes troubleshooting user accounts, mailboxes, message delivery and any other troubleshooting needs specific to Office 365 cloud-based services.
• Provides timely response to any phishing attempts, spam incidents, and compromised accounts.  Works with security personnel to identify and resolve those issues.
• Assists in administration of Listserv server used for bulk communications as well as monitoring bulk communications for students, faculty and staff.
• Document issues, troubleshooting steps and any other information or procedures useful to the team as well as other support staff.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training, or a Bachelor's degree with no specific required field and one year of IT related work experience, OR a combination of 5 years of IT related work experience and validated training. Preparation for a relevant IT certification, validated through certification requirements and documentation of completion, is considered to be related training.
PREFERRED:
• Knowledge and experience working in a large scale university environment.
• Knowledge of email administration, Teams and Office 365 administration is a plus.
• Experience with PowerShell and commonly used protocols in support of messaging.
SPECIAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
• Excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to deal with VIP and high profile customers.
• Detail oriented team player with a strong work ethic.
