Senior Linux / Unix (Desktop) Administrator
Description
This is a Senior Level UNIX/LINUX Admin role that is supporting the Faculty Members to help and build & spec UNIX Devices. (Including Laptops; Microsoft Upgrades for these devices as well.)
• Provide user support both onsite and remote.
• Software and Hardware troubleshooting.
• Testing and qualifying new hardware
• Utilize established ticketing system to track open issues
• Strong support experience with Linux / UNIX operating systems - STRONG emphasis on Linux Ubuntu experience
• Experience with GPU hardware, drivers and software for Linux based desktop environments
• Understanding of basic networking fundamentals (Routing, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, VPN)
• Expertise in deploying and supporting Linux / UNIX based desktops.
• Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and make quick decisions.
• Strong customer service, prioritization, and communication skills.
• Preferred experience in Healthcare or Research Field
