FITNESS SUPERVISOR-AQUATICS Clinical Support Hours: Varies Variable Hours - Full-time Paygrade/Wages/Salary Info: OH 2013-74 - 45020B
Job Summary Supervises the daily staff activities for an assigned area or function. # Job Responsibilities Responsible for teaming with the Manager of Health and Fitness in the day-to-day operation of the natatorium to provide high quality aquatics programs and services for member population, swim teams and community. Prepares schedules for the lifeguards, swim instructors, private swim instructors, and swim teams; submits payroll. Collaborates with membership services on the marketing and evaluation of member programs, researches new ideas for retention, tracks staff requirements, compiles budget requests and quotes, supervises equipment cleaning, oversees programming for kids/youth, maintains sports equipment, and oversees an effective personal training service. Works with the Manager of Health and Fitness in recruiting, interviewing, orienting, hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of staff. Addresses performance issues directly with aquatics staff as needed. Participates in Manager on duty rotations. Determines, coordinates, and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels. Assesses quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols. Performs staff responsibilities ass needed to fulfill required service levels. Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints. Qualifications Bachelor#s degree or higher in Athletic Training required upon hire OR Bachelor#s degree or higher in Exercise Physiology required upon hire OR Bachelor#s degree or higher in Exercise Science required upon hire OR Bachelor#s degree or higher in Health Education required upon hire OR Bachelor#s degree or higher in Physical Education required upon hire OR Bachelor#s degree or higher in Sports Medicine required upon hire A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
