The GL Accounting Manager will lead the General Ledger Accounting team to provide high-volume transactional accounting across multiple locations for a publicly traded company.  Position will be located in the Tampa (Carrollwood) area. The GL Accounting Manager will interact with multiple locations across the U.S. and internationally, so strong communication skills are a must.
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Accounting, this position is based in Tampa, Florida*.
Major Accountability:
•        Supervise and direct general ledger accounting functions, including all balance sheet reconciliations;
•        Ensure accurate and timely monthly and year-end close, along with the timely reporting of all monthly financial information;
•        Investigate and resolve or escalate any non-standard GL transactions;
•        Business partner to manufacturing locations and provides monthly support/analysis/reporting;
•        Proactively identify areas for process improvement, standardization and automation;
•        Execute Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure KPI’s met, with a focus on customer service;
•        Ensure compliance to all relevant accounting policies and US GAAP;
•        Responsible for ensuring internal controls are in place according to Corporate/SOX requirements;
•        Manage and complete internal, external and tax/audit requests and analysis;
•        Prepare journal entries, account and balance sheet reconciliations as needed;
•        Handle ad hoc requests in a timely manner.

Job Requirements
Job Requirements:
•        Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounting;
•        Bachelor’s degree in Accounting;
•        Must have a solid understanding of US GAAP;
•        Must have large ERP systems experience (Oracle a plus);
•        Experience in multi-location/manufacturing environment a plus;
•        Advanced proficiency with MS Excel to include VLOOKUPS and Pivot Tables;
•        Process improvement mentality (required);
•        Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment;
•        Public accounting experience a plus.
