Robert Half has been engaged in a confidential search for a Director of Finance to join an excellent a government contractor located in the Tampa Bay area.
The selected Director of Finance must have a strong background in accounting, a CPA is highly preferred for this role, as the selected Director of Finance will perform the controller function in conjunction with more traditional FP&A functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and preparation of monthly financial analysis and variance reporting as well as KPI analysis for the executive team.
In this role, the selected Director of Finance will report to the VP of Finance and the Division President and serve as the point of contact on all financial matters for the company. The selected Director of Finance:
1.   Oversees financial functions such as budgeting, auditing, forecasting, and analysis.
2.   Develops accurate P&L and cash forecasts on an annual, quarterly, and monthly basis.
3.   Provides management with financial analysis and reporting to ensure costs are controlled and profits are maximized. Influences business operations to achieve or exceed targets. Effectively communicates results and variances to Senior Management on a timely basis.
4.   Develops and administers program budgets and financial plans.
5.   Ensures compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as DCAA, DFAS, DCMA, DAR, FAR, SOX and other government regulations.
6.   Provides leadership and guidance to contracts, finance and accounting staff on matters related to A/R, A/P, Payroll, Tax, and G/L.
7.   Oversees internal financial controls, policies & procedures. Ability to interpret GAAP, FAR and CAS, and to make recommendations as they apply to a particular situation.
8.   Participates in the preparation and review of cost proposals and contract modifications.
9.   Principal point of contact for all internal and external audits; to include DCAA for incurred cost submission audits, CAS compliance audits, internal control system reviews and other audits, and generate and/or obtain all financial information requested by auditors to support their audits.
10.   Maintains current knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
11.   Participates in special projects as required.
