You Will Be Responsible For:
• Oversee the general operation of the Finance department
• Drives the division’s budgeting process by coordinating meetings with department directors, developing net revenue calculations, preparing Corporate budget schedules, and general analysis as requested
• Develops and implements Decision Support programs and dashboards including real-time tools
• Interacts with executive management, physicians, department leaders and clinical staff to provide the data and analysis necessary for effective strategic decision-making
• Evaluates profitability of current and proposed services and service lines
• Prepares the Analysis of financial information to support strategic decisions and operation improvement projects
• Oversees the Month-end GL close review and identifies and researches material variances
• Prepares Pro-Forma for business development opportunities
• Leads monthly Budget Variance reporting and director accountability process
• Researches and identifies Expense Reduction opportunities
• Works as liaison with Regional Accounting, cost report preparation, and internal / external auditors to provide data as needed
• Analyzes and produces trending reports across various non-acute operations (e.g. – payor mix, source of referrals, etc.)
• Provide information and assistance to business unit leaders in interpreting financial information
• Works with various department leaders on various projects and improvement opportunities such as schedule optimization, business development, etc.
• Oversees production of daily/weekly/monthly statistic reports
• Oversees the capital submission and reporting functions
• Responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures directly related to departmental services as well as updating annually
• Other duties as assigned including but not limited to: Ad hoc analysis, invoice approvals, etc.
What You Will Need:
• Effective communication skills with all team members across multiple disciplines
• Knowledgeable in current healthcare financial trends
• Understanding of healthcare quality measures
• Excellent Microsoft Office Skills
• Skilled in balancing multiple projects with differing deadlines
• Knowledgeable in statistical trending
• Maintains satisfactory participation and attendance at required and non-required meetings and staff development programs
• Demonstrates evidence of continuous professional development
• Interprets the type and specific data needed dependent upon the nature and scope of the issue being analyzed
• Understanding of non-acute budgeting process and reimbursement concepts
• Able to work independently and take initiative to learn new things / systems
• Bachelor’s Degree; Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Healthcare Administration
• 2 - 5 years of progressive healthcare experience
• Previous management, supervisory or project coordination experience required
• Extensive experience with mainframe accounting systems and PC based spreadsheets also required
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
• CPA licensure
Job Summary:
The Director of Finance’s purpose is to collaborate with other departments and business units across the Enterprise and provide the tools and analysis necessary to improve decision making and overall financial performance. The Director designs and develops reports, graphs and other resources to meet the informational needs of the non-acute division that includes statistical, cost, reimbursement and operational analysis that incorporates data from financial and dashboard systems. The Director of Finance partners with business units to enhance existing business applications and to facilitate solutions to meet business requirements. This position is responsible for managing the Non-Acute Division’s Finance, Budgeting, Productivity, and Decision Support processes. Business units include Post-Acute and Ambulatory Networks (ASC, Centra Care, Occupational Medicine, Rehabilitation, Imaging, Retail Services, Home Health, Physical Therapy and Ancillary Services). Reports to the CFO.
