Seeking an Sr. Windows Engineer (IIS, .NET, PowerShell) in Tampa, FL.
Role Description
* Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems, software, related infrastructure and Vector Solutions' applications across all lifecycle phases.
* Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
* Ensures that operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling customers, staff, and partners.
* Actively monitor and maintain Vector Solutions' products.
* Build, maintain, and support production and non-production servers within AWS.
* Lead server-related maintenance such as patching, account maintenance, backups, and security permissions.
* Monitor server security, perform routine security assessments, and manage software update services.
* Daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
* Triage and resolve Production incidents related to the cloud platform and the applications that run there.
* Participate in root cause analysis and post mortem discussions.
* Build effective monitoring, alerts, and metrics for production services and applications.
* Ensure system scalability, redundancy, and failover mechanisms are working and tested.
* Provide support for application deployments.
* Assist in testing changes in lower environments to ensure solution is as desired.
* Provide assistance in maintaining compliance with password resets, access reviews, remediation of Operational Incidents and MSIs.
* Develop and document processes to support ongoing development, change control, and production maintenance.
* Provide after-hours support as needed
Skills & Requirements
* 4+ years Windows System Administration experience.
* Some programming / scripting experience (Powershell, C#, Perl, Ruby, Python,…).
* 2+ years of experience maintaining .NET/MS SQL applications .
* Knowledge of AWS platform and its services (AMIs, Route53, VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, AWS CLI, EBS, ELB, SQS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, …).
* Experience with system health and performance monitoring tools (CloudWatch, New Relic, SolarWinds, Nagios, SumoLogic, Splunk).
* Experience administering web servers running IIS.
* Networking experience including IPsec, VPN, DNS, certificate management, load balancing, firewalls and routing.
* Experience with Git, Bitbucket or GitHub.
