The way our employees learn is changing.  This role will bring creativity, experience, and passion for learning to meet the needs of the business through a blended learning platform.  The focus will be on Operations training programs while partnering with the Learning and Development team to leverage corporate programs for the Fanatics Brands Operations team.  There will be a close partnership with the broader Learning and Development team on core initiatives.
The Director of Learning and Development will lead a team that is dispersed across multiple locations. The team is responsible for building, coordinating, and delivering function-specific training and leadership development programs while working to continuously improve the content and materials. This position actively searches, creatively designs, and implements effective methods to elevate performance and grow our people.
This role must be able to lead others without direct authority as well as deal with ambiguity and competing priorities.  This role must be able to effectively communicate with multiple levels of the organization (from hourly associates to senior leaders) to build credibility and trust with all partners.
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Learning and Development
•Create, organize, adapt, translate, and execute Learning and Development strategy in partnership with the Brands senior leaders and Human Resources partners
•Lead the development of learning strategy in manufacturing and fulfillment to include a blended approach that reduces time to train, increases efficiency while increasing quality and productivity
•Provide strong program and project management skills including attention to detail, ability to organize, plan, and execute while leading cross functional teams
•Use adult learning theory and other instructional design practices to develop and deliver custom training content, user and instructor guides, presentations, and other training materials for multiple delivery methods
•Drive innovation in the learning environment to support continuous process improvement initiatives that is scalable throughout the organization
•Oversee and enhance the current programs targeted at skill development, cross-training, building bench strength, and ensuring appropriate pipeline of talent
Advance the Business
•Develop, implement, and lead transformational strategies that enable business priorities including support for acquisitions and integrations
•Work with Operations on the creation, implementation, and sustainment of standardized work and processes to deliver measurable business results
•Ability to translate strategic goals into appropriate development programs while meeting and managing changing business priorities
•Perform an organizational assessment to determine short-term solutions and identify necessary investments for long-term solutions based on trends, opportunities, and business needs
•Evaluate data to identify insights into the effectiveness of training in relation to strategic business goals, focus on leading a culture of insight based continuous improvement
Build Relationships
•Hire, retain, develop, and lead direct reports from a distance
•Provide continuous and ongoing feedback in a fair and consistent manner to develop and elevate performance of direct reports
•Partner with business and functional leaders to assess needs, develop strategies, and manage new/existing projects to improve the performance of leaders, teams, and organizations
•Ability to effectively lead, direct, coach and mentor others (including peers) on how to design and deliver effective learning solutions that maximize employee engagement, development, and business outcomes
•Direct and manage complex learning projects while identifying process improvement ideas to ensure efficiency and accountability of the team
•Effectively manage interactions with cross-functional stakeholders across multiple locations including setting expectations, leading meetings, and providing ongoing project updates
•Provide continuous and ongoing feedback in a fair and consistent manner to elevate performance of direct report(s)
EXPERIENCE:
•Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in leading and managing people in an Operations environment across multiple locations, talent development strategy that incorporates adult learning, and project management
•Demonstrate advancement in scope and impact on business operations, tangible results, and continuous learning
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•Outstanding interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
•Excellent relationship building, interpersonal and influencing skills with clients and colleagues
•Demonstrates strong business acumen and a track record of success in partnering with business leaders
•Ability to manage competing priorities and balance multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, changing environment
•Responds quickly to feedback through iterative design
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively to accomplish assignments with minimal supervision
•Excellent agile project management skills with a demonstrated ability to lead projects from inception through completion while bringing stakeholders along
•Proficient in Microsoft Office
•Ability to create learning content utilizing design programs such as Adobe Suite or Articulate Storyline
•Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS:
•This job requires candidates to work and facilitate in a warehouse environment
•Flexible availability and open to travel domestically
PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:
•Must be able to stand 6 to 8 hours per day
•May be expected to walk 5 to 10 miles per day
•Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
