The Senior Director, Market Access, Employer Markets, will effectively engage with target stakeholders, including large employers, organized labor unions and employer coalitions at the leadership and administration levels to establish optimal coverage and reimbursement policies and processes that provide employee access for Pacira products.  This position will also leverage these positive changes with health plans (third party administrators) and providers to ensure incremental business growth for Pacira products.  There are two positions, one East and one West.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
The Senior Director, Market Access, Employer Markets, will represent Pacira's interests and build and manage relationships with high level influencers with targeted national and regional employers and employer coalitions as well as their networks and business partners.
• Examples of Employer Call Points: Head of Benefits, CMO, Workers’ Comp, Risk Management, Employee Engagement, Retiree Benefits
• Serve as company expert on Employers, educate Pacira and assist the company in setting strategic direction and creating resources that will benefit Pacira and its products.
• Identify opportunities to collaborate with employers and their health plan TPAs to steer members to providers where Pacira products have proven to deliver higher quality care.
• Work with National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions, NBGH, and others to find opportunities to educate the employer community about the value of Pacira products
• Work with employers, unions, and third party consultants to require their networks to offer a non-opioid option for post-surgical pain management.
• Develop and implement successful pull-through programs at the employer level to drive utilization
• Network among key contacts at large employers to gain introductions and advocacy with additional target employers.
• Identify opportunities to gather data and place pilots.
• Continuously maintains a compliant environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• None initially.
Interaction:
The incumbent will work closely with internal departments, such as Payer, HOVA, Marketing, National Accounts, Medical Affairs, and with external constituents such as consultants, NBGH, National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions, and other employer organizations.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Health Policy, Finance, Business or other related fields.  PharmD, MBA, MPH or JD from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Minimum of 12 years related experience in the healthcare industry.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience particularly managing national and regional employer and/or payer/purchaser corporate relationships.
• Leadership of Employer/Payer/Reimbursement/Market Access Account team preferred.
• Experience working in a matrix management organization structure preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills including presentation skills to groups of all sizes and at executive levels.
• Demonstrated ability to partner, communicate, and accomplish goals across organization without direct reporting structure
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities- Experience hiring and managing vendors as well as direct reports preferred
• Proven ability to think strategically and develop new business models and departments from the ground up with limited structure and direction
• Proven problem-solving, analytic and negotiation skills
• Proven relationships with executive level decision makers from Public and Private Payers, Payer & Employer Associations and Coalitions
• Proven contracting experience a plus
• Demonstrated understanding of CMS and Commercial payment models and trends
• Ability to travel 50% plus
• Valid driver’s license in the state in which you reside
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, move between spaces, reach with hands and arms and stoop.  Close vision and the need to focus on computer screen, use of hands, fingers and wrist to type on keyboard and manipulate mouse.  Will need to lift and move items weighing up to 20 pounds.
Will travel approximately  50+% on domestic flights and other modes of transportation in order to meet with employers and other constituents across the United States.
Work Environment:
The work setting is consistent of a typical pharmaceutical office environment with offices and cubicles.
Employee may have remote office environment that requires virtual remote meetings as well as live internal and external meetings, and spend time working on airplanes and other transportation while on business travel.
