Full Charge Bookkeeper / Office Manager
We are searching for a Full Charge Bookkeeper for an established Contracting and Real Estate Development company in the South Tampa area. This position will be performing accounting functions for several different but related companies. This is a full-time position that pays depending upon qualifications and experience. Candidates must be local to the Tampa Bay area.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Accountant performs a range of general clerical, accounting and bookkeeping support functions in multiple organizations all owned by the same entity. The position will be responsible for the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, running financials and explaining variances in accounts. The position will directly report to the President of the company and will have access and support from the organizations CPA firm, whom act as the organizations virtual CFO – thus there will be support in the case this candidate runs into difficult accounting issues or complex journal entries.
A significant portion of the job responsibilities relates to accounting functions for a Construction company, so candidates must have experience using QuickBooks. The organization is looking to move to more advanced accounting solutions in the near term, for example Sage Intacct.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Process accounts payables and receivables
• Reconcile Bank Statements & American Express receipts to QuickBooks
• Perform filing and general administrative tasks
• Assist in daily, weekly, monthly & quarterly reports
• General accounts receivable functions
• Prepare and submit customer invoices
• Code, post and receipt payments
• Prepare and coordinate deposit activities
• Perform all necessary account reconciliations
• Monitor customer accounts for payments
• Check, verify and process invoices
• Sort, code, and enter accounts payable data
• Analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices
• Maintain vendor files
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Minimum of 1 year accounting experience for degreed Accounting major or at least 5 years for Experienced Bookkeeper in related industry.
• Minimum of 3 years of QuickBooks experience
• Microsoft Office proficiency, including demonstrated proficiency with Excel a MUST, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook
• Excellent planning and organizational skills

• Customer service orientation
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills
• Team player with ability to adapt and be flexible with assignments across different organizational entities
