Job Description
Position Overview
Provides technology implementation, support and maintenance of desktop, laptop and related peripherals. Configures and upgrades hardware and software to ensure optimal performance. Works to ensure workstations’ technical compliance with Suncoast Credit Union standards. Troubleshoots technical issues in person, by telephone, and/or digital communication in a timely, accurate and professional manner. Initiates and implements new technologies which enhance user experience/performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Contributes to, maintains, and upholds Credit Union desktop/laptop system standards.
Ensures desktop, laptop and related peripherals adhere to system security standards.
Responsible for maintaining patch levels for credit union desktops and laptops staying up to date with current patch methods. Serves as point of contact for patch remediation inquiries and requests from IT Security.
Develops and maintains configuration specifications and procedure documentation.
Responsible for creating and maintaining desktop images and application packages.
Maintains inventory of desktops and laptops, as well as other related hardware.
Maintains and optimizes desktop/laptop configurations.
Researches available software or hardware upgrades and/or replacements for various Credit Union departments. Assists operations staff in testing of software modifications, including additional customizing and debugging.
Daily system monitoring and proactive maintenance of end user equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and documents system issues. Provides routine problem reporting and recommendations to management.
Preforms failure analysis and determines action plans to correct failing systems or processes.
Performs advanced troubleshooting techniques to address complex technical issues with Credit Union equipment and applications.
Oversees inventory management of software and hardware components.
Collaborates with other departments within Suncoast to successfully execute on projects.
Shares their knowledge base with others and mentors team members.
Participates in related training as needed to maintain and upgrade skill set. This includes, but is not limited to, completing annual security compliance training and understanding employee’s role in maintaining an effective standard of compliance program, and completing training.
Maintains knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting area of expertise. Attends educational events that will increase professional knowledge and be otherwise beneficial to the Credit Union. Completes annual BSA/AML Compliance Training and understands employee’s role in maintaining an effective BSA/AML compliance program, and completes FACT Act Red Flag training.
Minimum Education, Experience and Skill Requirements
A self-starter, who thinks and participates effectively, both independently, and as part of a team.
Makes key decisions and takes ownership of their own projects and is comfortable playing the role of an independent contributor when needed.
Coordinates and collaborates effectively with technical teams. Serves as lead on large or complex projects, overseeing software and hardware rollouts and upgrades.
CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ and MCDST certifications preferred
Bachelor’s degree in computing systems and/or systems management. (A comparable combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements.)
Advanced knowledge of PC setup and software installation.
Advanced knowledge and understanding of Microsoft desktop systems and software programs. This includes, but is not limited to, current and previous two versions of Windows, Microsoft Office and SCCM.
Advanced knowledge of remote connectivity software such as RDP, Citrix and Cisco VPN.
Logic to troubleshoot hardware, software, networking and application problems.
Working knowledge of essential networking principles.
Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines.
Excellent listening and communication skills.
Ability to work both under self-direction and in a team environment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule as required for significant upgrades or projects.
Positive work ethic.
Able to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities, and meet deadlines. Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized. Able to analyze and resolve difficult problems and situations.
Good knowledge and understanding of Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures pertinent to the job.
Good knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities.
Good knowledge and understanding of all Credit Union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties.
Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators. Able to influence others through explanation of facts, policies, and practices.
Works independently with general supervision.
