Position Overview
As a developer you will be part of a small and nimble team responsible for working on all aspects of Suncoast's front and back end systems. You will work to design, build, implement and support the applications of the business.
Duties and Responsibilities
Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Assist in software design, testing and implementation of new product features.
Assist in design, code reviews and retrospectives.
Provide technical analysis and work effort estimate for user stories.
Design, code and unit test user stories to meet acceptance criteria.
Plan, estimate and coordinate with team to prioritize work for upcoming sprints.
Conducts appropriate testing to identify and resolve issues prior to QA testing.
Effectively communicate with customers and product stakeholders.
Maintain existing software systems by identifying and correcting software defects.
Participates in all phases of the Development Life Cycle.
Acts as subject matter expert in area of expertise.
Leads the work of lower level employees. Coaches, reviews, and delegates work items. May assist with other personnel activities of staff such as performance appraisals and training. Cultivates strong working relationships and builds trust among team members.
Maintains knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting area of expertise. Attends educational events that will increase professional knowledge and be otherwise beneficial to the Credit Union. Completes annual BSA/AML Compliance Training and understands employee’s role in maintaining an effective BSA/AML compliance program, and completes FACT Act Red Flag training.
Minimum Education, Experience and Skill Requirements
C#: 3 years (Required)
Web Development (MVC, Knock-out, Bootstrap): 2 years (Required)
5 years of full stack application development experience in a team environment (Required)
Data Access (SQL Server, Azure Table Storage): 1 year (Required)
Xamarin Mobile Development: 1 year (Preferred)
Experience with Domain Driven Design: 1 year (Preferred)
Experience with Micro-Service Architecture: 1 year (Preferred)
Experience with Microsoft Azure (Cloud Service and Service Fabric): 1 year (Preferred)
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies (Preferred)
Able to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities, and meet deadlines. Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized. Able to analyze and resolve difficult and often complex problems and situations.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures pertinent to the job.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of all Credit Union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators. Able to influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures.
Works with limited oversight from manager.
