Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the implementation and maintenance of all software and hardware configurations associated with the restaurant Point-of-Sale /technology stack as well as the development and implementation of new technologies. This position will require a high level of technical expertise with NCR/Aloha POS technologies and will utilize that expertise to help deliver creative and innovative solutions to complex operational challenges.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Acts as a technical lead on projects including upgrades, enhancements, refreshes etc. as needed.
• Acts as a Checkers IT escalation point from the Checkers Help Desk for restaurant system issues.
• Performs administration, maintenance and updates to restaurant technology solutions including software and hardware.
• Provides professional, courteous, prompt, and accurate support and solutions to users.
• Work with the Restaurant Systems team on system upgrades, new system rollouts and on new store openings.
• Researches new and innovative solutions that enable more efficient store-level operations models.
• Performs other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Knowledge
• Experience with the Aloha family of software products: RAL, CMC, CFC, ATO, APS, SEPS, Kitchen, and Aloha Quick service POS.
• Experience with best practices for efficiently and successfully deploying software updates to several hundred locations at a time
• Knowledge of latest hardware (terminals, payment devices, mobile devices, kiosk options) that can be used with Aloha QS to enable more efficient operational models
• Familiarity with third parties such as OLO and integration best practices with Aloha POS.
Education
• College degree preferred.
Experience
• Prior Aloha POS experience REQUIRED.
• 3-5 years of technical service experience within the restaurant industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office suite and internet software.
• Exceptional customer service skills with proven telephone and desk side manners.
Essential Physical Requirements:
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret written information such as procedure manuals, Company communications or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, guests and the general public.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to regularly stand for extended periods of time, talk and hear.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel.
• Ability to work in a normal restaurant environment where the noise level is usually moderate and occasionally be exposed to outside weather conditions.
