As a member of the software engineering team, this person will perform hands-on design, development, test and evaluation, and demonstration of advanced prototype software applications. The developer will apply state-of-the-arts techniques, using multiple programming languages and development environments to drive advances in mission capabilities. The developer will assist the task leader in user engagements and developing innovative solutions and applying Agile Engineering principles to evolve mission capabilities for our sponsors. The developer will contribute to the tasks as a member of the development team, as well as provide technical leadership to applicable areas of the tasks as required. The developer will also document progress and results in technical briefings and reports. The developer must effectively communicate application capabilities and task progress with the sponsor and MITRE team. The developer must be able to work effectively in a geographically distributed environment.
Desired Education/Experience:
B.S. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (or similar) with overall GPA
of 3.0 or higher. Demonstrated hands-on experience in software development in a collaborative team environment. Experienced in developing prototype level software with modern languages and in a fast-paced environment with minimal/evolving requirements. Experienced in developing secured applications. Possess a passion for emerging technologies and their applications towards solving real-world operational problems.
Required Skills:
Working knowledge of Java, C++, C#, .NET framework, database applications, commercial and open source developer tools, and modern operating systems, Skilled in rapid prototyping and agile development methodologies. Skilled in delivering technical documentation and presentations to users.
Desired Skills:
Ability to translate and decompose functional requirements into software architecture and testable features. Ability to function as an individual contributor as well as small team leaders in delivering solutions. Innovative spirit. Strong interest in broad range of advanced technologies. Ability to install, configure and maintain development infrastructure a plus.
