Description:
Intermediate level Java Developer role focused on building out the firm’s strategic regulatory platforms used by the Institutional Clients Group in Citi. The successful candidate will be a member of the ISG (Information Service Group) team, working to execute a multi-year feature roadmap for the assigned product. The successful candidate will have an excellent opportunity to develop a wide range of technical skills as well as gain broad business knowledge within a major global financial organization. This role is for a full time employee and will be based in Tampa, FL.
Technology:
• Extensive working knowledge of Java and Unix
• Knowledge of any of the following is desirable: JEE, Spring, JDBC, EJB, JMS, SOAP, REST, PL/SQL, Maven, Junit
• Experience configuring and deploying applications to Tomcat
• Experience with third party vendor application installations on enterprise Windows, Linux server infrastructure
• Sound understanding of fundamental computer science concepts like Exception Handling, Static block/variables/classes, OOP concepts, Collections, Multi-Threading, Design Patterns
• Sound knowledge of IDEs like Eclipse/Intellij Idea, Git/Bitbucket, Continuous Integration, uDeploy
• Knowledge of Windows Server, relational database (eg. Oracle), nosql database (eg. Mongodb) is an advantage
• Knowledge of front-end Javascript web development (Angular, React) is an advantage
Responsibilities:
• Take ownership for delivering the development task assigned, delivering to expectation within agreed timelines
• Form partnership with technology vendors and gain deep understanding of products
• Participate in all stages of the SDLC within an agile Scrum environment
• Assist Project Lead in coordinating with business analysts and user communities to define requirements
• Actively seeks out and evaluates new technologies and technical practices and recommends their application to projects where appropriate
• Together with the team contribute to innovative and best-in-class solutions for our business
• Provide level 3 (escalation) support for the application

Knowledge/Experience:
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry
• Intermediate level experience in Applications Development role
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
