The DAM Administrator (librarian)will maintain and promote Ashley’s enterprise Digital Asset Management (DAM) solution. This role will lead in areas of technical system maintenance, global processes, procedures, communications, metadata creation, and user support. This person is responsible for managing, reviewing, sharing, and enforcing best practices for internal/ external users.
Primary Job Functions
1. Maintain, oversee and manage the asset organization for the Digital Asset Management platform, ensuring governance, meta-tagging, and structure.
2. Setup, monitor and enforce governance and standards of access and user rights and best practices for individual and user groups.
3. Create, communicate and help enforce processes and procedures to acquire proper files and appropriate metadata throughout the different user groups.
4. Identify and train various asset creators and agencies to efficiently and effectively submit assets for integration into the system. Continuously provide ongoing training as needed.
5. Track performance and gather user feedback on a continuous basis to improve the system, processes and training.
6. Oversee, create and maintain supporting documentation for the system, policies and training sessions
7. Skilled data entry with a high degree of media asset organization.
8. Make employment decisions and/or recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, pay adjustments, etc.
9. Coordinate and manage the work of employees by directing members of the team to meet the area’s goals. Audit regularly to ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered to.
10. Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring and administering performance reviews. Recommend, plan and/or implement employee training and skill development activities.
11. Audit, maintain and ensure employee time-keeping and absentee records are accurate.
12. Communicate company and departmental issues and goals and facilitate employee growth and development through weekly team meetings, regular individual employee meetings, coaching, training, and company-offered learning opportunities.
13. Manage resources to optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods and materials.
14. Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions.
Job Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Archive Management or equivalent education and/or experience
Experience:
• 5 years of DAM experience or creative operations/production in a high-volume environment is required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work independently with close attention to detail and accuracy as well as work as part of a team
• Reading and writing proficiency consistent with noted educational requirement; Auditing, monitoring, and reporting on asset rights/usage/restrictions and compliance
• Facilitate support of internal and external content contributors, across the omni-channel marketing experience.
• Drive the progress, growth and maturity of our asset management practices.
• Develop role-specific user training programs pertinent to all asset management systems
• Author production, distribution, and archive retention policies
• Cross-Functional Collaboration for content creation, selection and sourcing.
• Maintain industry knowledge on current solutions available, asset management trends, and general (industry) media production trends.
• Collaborate with System Support Managers in Digital Production Systems to resolve all system-based issues
• Supervise and delegate to the Digital Asset Specialist(s) as needed, to facilitate all asset management requirements
