SOF AT&L - Engineer - Artificial Intelligence Apogee Engineering | Tampa, Florida 33601 Unspecified Intel Agency (NSA, CIA, FBI, etc) Unspecified Intelligence Intelligence Apogee is actively seeking an Engineer - Artificial Intelligence to be located at MacDill AFB in Tampa FL . This position plans, executes, and documents surveillance of design, development, and production efforts on behalf of government counterparts, using performance indicators identified in applicable engineering surveillance processes.

What you will be doing:
• Support government counterparts regarding the adequacy and clarity of engineering and analysis processes based on daily application of the processes and agency reporting requirements.
• Provides advanced inputs for status briefings to leadership, outlining assigned programs, projects, problems, and recommended resolution.
• Supports contract modification and makes technical recommendations for change order approval.
• Supports budget control directly supporting the engineering effort.
• Provides decision support inputs for approval of plans, specification, cost estimates, design calculations, schedules, cost proposals, and engineering studies.
• Applies advanced tools to document and analyze the results of critical, complex activities and tasks.
• Plans, executes, and documents surveillance of design, development, and production efforts on behalf of government counterparts, using performance indicators identified in applicable engineering surveillance processes.
• Completes advanced engineering demand tasks such as reviewing engineering change proposals, requests for waivers and deviations, and nonconforming materials.
• Provides expert level inputs for status briefings to leadership, outlining assigned programs, projects, problems, and recommended resolution.
What you'll need:
• Secret security clearance
• DAWIA Level II Equivalency in the Program Management, Engineering, Science and Technology (S&T) or Test and Evaluation fields.
• JATF - The Hyper-Enabled Operator (HEO) focuses on identifying key opportunities to insert and integrate technology developed in the other capability areas in order to give the operator the full benefit of information at the tactical edge. Critical elements of technology include adaptive and flexible sensors, scalable tactical communications in contested or denied environments, edge computing, embedded algorithms, and tailorable human-machine interfaces.
• The SME must be able to work with the other HQs SOCOM staff elements, Command Surgeon's Office, and Component Command Surgeon's Offices to ensure that the human interface and biomedical technologies are addressed.
• Additionally, this SME must be an expert in and work with leading industry partners on cutting edge technology and all the DoD specialized medical treatment and research facilities to advance the basic research for SOF unique purposes.
• The SME must also work with the SOCOM CDR's Experimentation Force (EXFOR), Preservation of the Force and Family, Warrior Care and other staff elements and offices to ensure synchronization, requirements definition, validity and feasibility within the SOF community.
• Strong working Knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office Suite software and project management/scheduling software programs such as MS Project.
• Working knowledge of the Defense Acquisition System as directed by DoD Instruction 5000.02, “Operation of the Defense Acquisition System”
• Working knowledge of the Defense Acquisition Framework process.
• Knowledge of business practices and market conditions applicable to program and technical acquisition requirements.
• Knowledge of price and cost analysis sufficient to review proposals, actual and estimated expenditures and established rates to determine price reasonableness or to determine a negotiation position. Ability to properly apply funding rules associated with the obligation of multiple types of appropriations.
• Ability to apply precedents found in government contracting case law to specific contracting situations to ensure that legally binding contracting officer decisions are consistent, justifiable and will be upheld at appellate courts or boards.
• Knowledge of contracting negotiation, administration and termination principles, policies, procedures and technical requirements applicable to the full range of contracting actions for a variety of contract types.
• Experience with task management systems, proficient in building executive level briefings, and able to apply acquisition experience to formulation and consolidation of official responses to taskers, RFIs, etc.
• Ability to adjust work operations and program objectives to meet emergencies, changing programs or production requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifice of quality or quantity of work.
