You Will Be Responsible For:
• Encourages and demonstrates teamwork by pulling charts, following up on radiology and lab results, answering phones, communicating with patients.
• Demonstrates care for one another by working all areas, open to change, sensitive to department needs, effectively participates in conflict resolution/problem solving.
• Collaborates with office staff on marketing efforts
• Communicates effectively with front desk staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Performs front office responsibilities as assigned.
• Assists surgeons and gastroenterologists with examination, procedures, preparation of patients and performs triage in office setting.
• Oversees procedures within the clinic.
• Handles collaboration between industry personnel and physicians.
• Prepares rooms for procedures and clinical appointments.
• Handles education, counseling and consent of patients for procedures.
• Administration of medication and treatments as prescribed or authorized by licensure.
• Coordinates and assists physicians with endoscopic procedures and compiles results.
• Assures compliance with Joint Commission and develops protocols within the clinical setting.
• Maintains clinical and surgical supplies for the office.
• Assists with front office operations including but not limited to coding, billing, invoicing, scheduling, patient check in and check out, tracking of procedures, reporting and insurance verification.
• Handles all supply orders and inventory.
• Oversees faxing of notes to referring physicians.
• Assists physicians with processing of FMLA paperwork
• SuperUser for electronic medical records.
• Provides training for Physicians, Fellows, Mid-level providers and clinical staff.
• Leads weekly clinical meetings to discuss improvement in processes.
• Handles Quality initiatives and code cart maintenance.
What You Will Need:
• Competent in basic patient work-up for examination.
• Good medical knowledge to assist doctor during patient exams.
• Ability to keep process and patient flow on time; competent with basic patient work up.
• Current basic computer skills, data input.
• Good business office organizational skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well independently and with others in a team environment.
• Ability to adapt to change.
• Knowledge of scopes, towers and other equipment for clinical procedures, including, but not limited to, endoscopy equipment.
• Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, storage and usage.
• Understanding of Sterilization Process and Techniques for Surgical Tools and Gastroscopes.
• Administration of medication and treatments as prescribed or authorized by licensure.
• Knowledge of coding and billing rules/regulations.
• Associate’s Degree
• American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) Certification or American Medical Technologist (AMT) or RMA Certification is required
• Current, valid CPR certification is required (BLS).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical office or surgical setting
Job Summary:
Provides oversight of clinical personnel including medical assistants and clinical nurse. Assures all policies and procedures are followed within the clinical setting. Leads weekly clinical staff meetings to improve processes and discuss any items needing clarification. Provides clinical and operational support in delivery of patient care in a physician practice setting or clinical office. Responsible for assisting surgeons and gastroenterologists with examinations, procedures, preparation of patients and triage in clinic setting. Responsible for assuring compliance and development of protocols within the clinical setting. Responsible for maintaining clinical and surgical supplies for the office. Responsible for assisting with front office operations including but not limited to billing, invoicing, scheduling, patient check in and check out, tracking of procedures, reporting and insurance verification. Responsible for clerical management of clinical setting. Responsible for being a Super User for the electronic medical record. Provides ongoing training of EMR for physicians, fellows, midlevel providers and other clinical staff.
