Position Summary : Sisters Home Care Inc. are seeking qualified, energetic and dedicated individuals to join our team! Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are responsible for developing and maintaining positive, therapeutic relationships with our service recipients while effectively implementing individualized programs. All of our service recipients are individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Our DSP work with these individuals in their home to ensure that programs are implemented properly to meet their individual goals. Our DSP carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, applicable to federal, state, APD guidelines, and regulations as directed by the Program Manager.
Qualifications :
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Successful completion of level 2 background
• Valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance
• Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report or driving record
• Strong decision making, problem solving, and judgment skills
• Ability to remain objective in various situations
• Effective communication skills (written and oral)
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Willingness to take initiative and adapt to circumstances
• At least 1 year experience working in field of residential group homes, health care
• CPR/First Aide, Zero Tolerance, HIV/Aides, HIPPA, PCM, Medication, etc
Working Environment:
Flexible hours including 24 hours, split shifts or varied hours (mornings, afternoons, evenings, overnight and weekends).
Work in a variety of settings inside or outside the home/group home and throughout the community.
Sit, stand, walk, bend, lift and move intermittently during working hours.
Subject to frequent problem-solving situations.
Regular contact with service recipients, staff, family members and the general public.
May be subject to physically aggressive and/or emotionally upset individuals.

Experience:
• dsp: 1 year (Preferred)
Education:
• High school or equivalent (Required)
