The University of South Florida is seeking fellowship-trained candidates in Neurocritical Care at the Assistant/Associate Professor level to join our growing NCC team at USF/Tampa General Hospital (TGH). Successful faculty candidates will be appointed in the Department of Neurosurgery and Brain Repair, with a joint appointment in the Department of Neurology. Faculty will provide neurocritical care at one of the Southeasts largest critical care units at TGH, and will participate in teaching and clinical research. Candidates must be a physician and eligible for licensure in the State of Florida, and must have completed a neurology or neurosurgery residency as well as have completed a neurocritical care fellowship. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide emergency critical care for patients with serious conditions involving the nervous system, brainstem, or brain; as well as helping to prevent secondary brain injuries. Complete clinical obligations such as chart completion, patient follow-up, finalize billing, etc. Work with residents on the evaluation, treatment, and overall care for those patients who are in the neurocritical care unit. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM: Medical Degree Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.
