Full Job Description
Well established Dermatology practice is seeking a PRN certified Medical Assistant or LPN experienced in dermatology.
Job Duties:
• Patient charting in an EMR system
• Returning patient calls
• Scribing visits for providers, dictating notes with providers
• Logging and maintenance of paths and patient path call backs
• Entering patient demographics and scheduling patients into practice management system
• Managing patient charts for prescriptions, diagnosis, medical records, patient correspondence
• Assist physician with all dermatological procedures
• Instrument auto-clave duties
Qualifications:
• EMR experience required
• Proven track record assisting physician with skin biopsies, surgical procedures and cosmetic treatments
• Experience with patient charting (i.e., scribing patient history, doctor’s diagnosis description and treatment plans, including prescriptions and patient instructions into patient chart, in detail)
• Excellent patient service and interpersonal skills
• Effective communication skills (written and oral)
• Well organized
• Ability to manage multiple tasks
• Self-starter and motivated
• Knowledgeable of OSHA and HIPAA compliance
• Knowledge of medical/dermatology terminology and abbreviations
• 2+ years of dermatology experience required
Education:
MA - Medical Assistant certification
LPN - Licensed as Practical Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 – maintain an active Florida license.
