Candidates could reside on the East coast with close proximity and ability to travel to Southeast. About the Role Responsible for managing an assigned territory to provide reimbursement education to internal and external customers and coverage initiatives for payer targets. Your responsibilities will include: Develop, implement, and manage health economics and market access activities for BSC working with divisional staff and key internal and external stakeholders: Provide reimbursement education and ongoing support to external stakeholders (e.g., physicians, hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, including administrative staff, benefits and preauthorization leads, coders, and billers.) . Partner with the territory’s Sales Teams in executing reimbursement support and initiatives for new and existing customer accounts. Executes high level customer service and building relationships with a provider’s staff to maintain ongoing assistance with coding, coverage, payment, and individual case assistance, and the internal BSC Preauthorization Team. Act as a liaison between providers and BSC Preauthorization Team to ensure that processing of cases is in a timely manner and to achieve favorable decisions to contribute to the goal of coverage on a case by case bases and broader policy changes. Provide appropriate in-service training to internal stakeholders (e.g., sales, marketing, clinical, regulatory, and legal to increase awareness and understanding of health economics and market access and their role in supporting a product’s success. Develop practical strategies and tactics to secure optimal reimbursement and coverage for BSC products and the procedures they enable. Monitor policy developments and trends that impact the reimbursement of BSC products according to the payer targets assigned. Assists the Director in building relationships in key markets with government, physician (including Key Opinion Leaders), hospital, and third-party payer decision makers. Highly involved with obtaining payer coverage by becoming a key member of the Internal Payer Team to assist in requesting and preparing for payer technology review meetings. What we’re looking for: The successful candidate will have excellent technical skills in the areas of health economics and market access. The position requires the candidate to be current in the field and able to work in a wide array of settings. Minimum 5-7 years in reimbursement, health economics and/or outcomes research, preferably with experience working with new medical technologies in the medical device or pharmaceutical arena. Master’s degree or higher (e.g., MS, MPH, MBA, PhD, DrPH, JD) or equivalent. Formal training in health economics, public health, health services research, policy analysis, epidemiology, biostatistics, health care administration or related discipline preferred. Management experience leading functional and cross-functional teams. Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. and global healthcare systems including expertise in health care financing, reimbursement policies related to the device industry, and technology assessment. Strong communications skills and experience developing interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions independently and to work in a fast-paced matrix environment with minimal supervision. May lead a group or team of employees in the achievement of organizational goals. Guide, coach, direct, and develop direct reports, and if applicable, drive those practices throughout their organization. May direct and control the activities and budget of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups, projects/programs and/or operations. Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements).
