This non-tenure earning position will teach in the CRNA Program; conduct scholarly activity; mentor graduate nursing students; engage in college, university, community and professional service activities commensurate with the rank of assistant to full professor. SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING: CRNA Certification, FL ARNP License, Doctoral Degree RESPONSIBILITIES: TEACHING: Didactic, online and hybrid clinical instruction of graduate level courses primarily in the CRNA program. Program and curriculum review, and clinical site and student evaluation as appropriate. OTHER DUTIES: Scholarly activity, publications and presentations in accordance with university criteria for appointment at the rank of assistant to full professor. ADMINISTRATIVE/SERVICE: Serve on college and university committees where appropriate. Community and professional service activities in accordance with university criteria for appointment as an assistant to full professor. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM: Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of assistant to full professor. Doctorate in nursing or related discipline and current national certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist; be eligible to practice, and current clinical practice as a CRNA/ARNP in the state of Florida. PREFERRED: One year prior post-secondary teaching experience in a college/school of nursing, demonstrated expertise in teaching/developing curriculum in pharmacology, physiology, pathophysiology and Nurse Anesthesia related curriculum. Experience with technology supported educational methods (online and blended format); demonstrated ability to work effectively with community partners. An established record of scholarly work and/or external funding; experience with simulation learning; evidence of independent and collaborative scholarship or creative work supported by publications, presentations and or their equivalent. Must commensurate with the rank of assistant to full professor. REQUIRES: This position will teach in the and graduate programs with special attention to the CRNA specialty, and continuing education curriculum; participate in curriculum design and student evaluation; conduct a planned program of scholarly activities including submission of scholarly work for publication, and presentations; mentor Graduate nursing students; engage in college, university, community and professional service activities commensurate with the rank of assistant to full professor.
