Owensboro Specialty Polymers
Owensboro Specialty Polymers (OSP) was acquired by Milliken & Company as part of the Borchers acquisition in January 2020.  OSP is a specialty polymer business specializing in PVdC emulsion chemistry. We have been in the business of manufacturing quality polymers from a wide range of monomers for over 50 years. We provide high barrier coatings to the flexible packaging industry and metal coating industry as well as many other applications that require excellent barrier to moisture, gases, odors, flavors, grease, chemicals, etc. Over the years we have developed a line of specialty adhesive and coating products used is a wide variety of applications and industries.
Job Summary
The Engineering Services Manager is responsible for the management of the maintenance department.  They are responsible for maintaining all plant equipment, buildings, utilities, and grounds.  They are responsible for reduction of maintenance and energy costs, improving safety, and troubleshooting equipment problems to eliminate root cause of equipment failures. Individuals in this position must be a highly motivated, detail oriented individual capable of independent work with a minimum of supervision. This position reports to the plant manager and is located at the Owensboro Specialty Polymers plant in Owensboro, Kentucky.
Essential D              Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Safety and Environment
Improve plant safety performance through active participation in the plant safety process. Help ensure safe operations of processes and equipment, maintaining compliance with federal, state, local regulations and Milliken & Company and the SiVance Plant rules and procedures.
• Maintenance
Improve plant maintenance systems, including Preventive and Predictive Maintenance, Breakdown Maintenance, and Scheduled Maintenance. Implement systems to determine root cause of equipment failure and implement corrective action to reduce failures. Understand plant production priorities and manage maintenance activities to reduce maintenance downtime.
• Human Resources and Associate Development
Work with Plant Manager and Human Resources Manager to insure appropriate level of staffing for exempt and hourly union positions.
• Cost
Manage plant capital projects, and control labor and supply costs within agreed upon budget.
Qualifications          Required:
• BS or higher degree in an Engineering discipline with a minimum of five years in manufacturing plant, operations, and/or maintenance areas.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and other leadership skills.
• Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
Qualificat                Preferred:
• Preferred Engineering discipline: Chemical or Mechanical
Knowledge and expertise in the following areas:
• Preventive, Predictive, and Reliability-Centered Maintenance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• OSHA 1910.119 Process Safety Management requirements
• ISO-9000 and ISO-14001.
• SAP.
• Managing hourly and exempt personnel in a manufacturing environment
• Emergency Response
• Experience working with a labor union.
