Full Job Description
We are looking to hire compassionate, experienced, Pharmacy Technicians for immediate openings in the Brandon, FL area! These positions offer competitive pay and an opportunity to develop additional skills in a growing market!
Responsibilities
• Knowledge of Aseptic Technique and USP CH-797 and CH-800.
• Aseptically admix/compound IV Sterile products (ADD)
• Receive, Stock, Pull Sterile IV products. (ADD)
• Follow proprietary formulations to compound commercially unavailable prescriptions into the appropriate dosage form
• Adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures
• Properly use all equipment in the lab that is necessary to make the compound in a sterile environment
• Wash and sterilize dishes and equipment after use
• Cleaning of the aseptic laboratories
• Ensure the compounding lab and related equipment are cleaned and maintained according to policy
• Calibration and proper documentation of equipment.
• Routinely checking for outdated or soon to expire chemicals, commercially available products, and compounded products
• Follow all safety and USP 797 guidelines for preparation of IV compounded medications
• Work closely with Quality Assurance Department to ensure product sterility, potency and absence of endotoxins
Skills
• Ability to communicate and work closely with all members of the pharmacy team. (ADD)
• Ability to work alone and be self-motivated.
• Ability to follow policy and procedures set forth by management.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with little assistance from the Pharmacist or other Pharmacy Technicians
• Understanding of medical terminology and pharmacy calculations
• Ability of wearing all protective wear as required by the State Board of Pharmacy. This includes, but not limited to; mask, gloves, gown, hairnet, safety goggles, etc
• Knowledge of basic principles, theories and laws, policies, and procedures that pertain to IV compounding
• Ability to pass Compounding Exam with a score of 75% and three high-risk media fill tests upon completion of lab training,
• Ability for some traveling to attend continuing education seminars regarding compounding of medications. Less than 5%
Qualifications
• FL State License Required
• PTCB National Certification preferred
• IV Sterile Compounding experience required
