Full Job Description
Equity Staffing is looking for a Sterile IV Pharmacy Technician in Brandon, FL. This is for a temporary to hire position with a Fortune 100 organization. Duties:
• Knowledge of Aseptic Technique and USP CH-797 and CH-800
• Aseptically admix/compound IV Sterile products (ADD)
• Receive, Stock, Pull Sterile IV products. (ADD)
• Follow proprietary formulations to compound commercially unavailable prescriptions into the appropriate dosage form
• Adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures
• Properly use all equipment in the lab that is necessary to make the compound in a sterile environment
• Wash and sterilize dishes and equipment after use
• Cleaning of the aseptic laboratories
• Ensure the compounding lab and related equipment are cleaned and maintained according to policy
• Calibration and proper documentation of equipment.
• Routinely checking for outdated or soon to expire chemicals, commercially available products and compounded products
Qualifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• minimum 6 months of sterile compounding experience (IV Compounding, Hospital, Home infusion, Specialty pharmacy, LTC)
• National pharmacy technician certification (not required but preferred) and state licensure current and in good standing
• Ability to work in a fast pace environment with little assistance from the Pharmacist or other Pharmacy Technicians
• Understanding of medical terminology and pharmacy calculations
• Ability of wearing all protective wear as required by State Board of Pharmacy. This includes, but not limited to; mask, gloves, gown, hairnet, safety goggles etc
• Knowledge of basic principles, theories and laws, policies and procedures that pertain to IV compounding
