Full Job Description
We are a 7 day a week Urgent Care looking for someone who can work any shift(s)
Mon-Fri 5 pm - 8 pm or Sat-Sun 9am-5pm. Must have prior x-ray experience.
Primary Job Duties:
Prepare patients for x-ray procedures, explain procedures to patients and/or family, prepare room, equipment, and materials as needed
Practice proper patient positioning to obtain requested radiographs
Practice radiation protection techniques including shielding, collimating, and exposure controls Complete exams in a timely and efficient manner and evaluate all images for acceptable technical quality
Assist with triage examinations including documentation of chief complaint, obtaining vitals, and verifying current medications and allergies
Perform various diagnostic testing including but not limited to urinalysis, urine cultures, urine drug screens, CUA-waived testing such as strep, flu, and mono tests, eye and ear irrigation, venipuncture, and EKGs Collect appropriate specimens for send-out labs, practice proper specimen labeling, ensure lab tests are correctly ordered and requisitions are completed
Assist with patient follow-up calls including lab and x-ray results and phoning in prescriptions to pharmacies Administer oral medications and injections, administer vaccines and PPD tests as needed
Perform wound care, dressing applications, and orthopedic splinting
Properly set up trays for minor procedures including sutures, staples, l&D, and STD testing, and assist provider during procedures as necessary
Accurately, efficiently, and completely document all clinical patient care data
Perform all functions of a medical assistant and perform additional clerical duties as necessary
Clean instruments and equipment, maintain stock of room supplies, maintain general aesthetics of the clinic, and other clinical/clerical duties as needed
Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent
Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program Current licensure in radiologic technology and CEU compliant BLS certification
Knowledge of OSHA requirements
