JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE : Trash Free Waters Program Coordinator
REPORTS TO : Executive Director of Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: This is a Full-time Position
Position Summary:
The Trash Free Waters Program Coordinator is a motivated, highly qualified professional who will coordinate & manage the Hillsborough River Trash Free Waters Program, reporting to the Executive Director, and collaborating with the Board of Trustees and Program Staff. Will lead and manage the Adopt-A-WaterGoat, Seabin and Monofilament Program. Will lead and manage the Hillsborough River Trash Free Water Program goals and coordinate strategy development and implementation to make progress against the goal of making the Hillsborough River a Trash Free Waterway. Will develop and implement funding strategies, corporate relations and donor cultivation for this project.
Essential Functions:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Coordinates cleanups from water based devises including the WaterGoats, Seabins and Monofilament Tubes.
• Coordinates all water based cleanups including kayakers, divers as well as cleanups from our Pontoon Boat
• Take initiative to identify needs, outline project plan, and execute against it o Independently seek resources to complete projects, from start to finish
• Prepare high-quality, professional memos, presentations, and other communication materials regarding Trash Free Waters Initiative.
• Manage relationships as necessary with vendors, consultants, waste management organizations university, agency, corporate and community partners o Manage internal sharing portal, relating to whole team planning and events.
• Will complete Boat Safety Course for certification to Captain our Pontoon Boat as part of the Trash Free
Water Program.
• Oversees correspondence with volunteers through administration of Constant Contact.
• Helps in preparing Reports for the Trash Free Waters Grants.
• Investigate and apply for grant funds for these projects.
• Schedule and coordinate Safety Trainings.
• Increase volunteer base.
• Plan and attend all Hillsborough River Trash Free Waters Program meetings and events, and participates as needed in other events benefiting the Trash Free Water Program.
• Retrieves email; responds accordingly.
• Answers incoming telephone calls and provides information.
• Maintains and updates records and files.
• Prepares routine correspondence and memoranda.
• Create, implement and maintain an updated list of contacts
Ability To:
• Exercise sound, expert independent judgment within general policy guidelines
• Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects.
• Exercise optimal judgment pertaining to use of time in relation to achievement of objectives and goals.
• Analyze program-related issues and problems, evaluate alternative solutions and develop sound conclusions, recommendations and courses of action.
• Exercise tact, objectivity, sensitivity, strategy and judgment in dealing with diverse clients in a variety of situations.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with funding source representatives, employers, representatives of community organizations, board and committee members and other staff.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit or related field preferred or 5 years’ experience.
• Experience in developing and recruiting for nonprofit organizations.
• Knowledge of nonprofit donation recruitment techniques.
• Demonstrates ability to build and maintain relationships with donors.
• Flexible, creative, and ability to work in a non-structured developing work environment.
• Demonstrates capacity to think “outside the box”, communicate and motivate donors on the organization’s programs and new ideas.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint, RaisersEdge.
• Demonstrates knowledge of coordinating diverse special events.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, be proficient in research, interpreting, and analyzing diverse data and possess the ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve stated goals.
Work Schedule
The Trash Free Waters Program Coordinator is an exempt position that requires a minimum of 40-hours/week.
The majority of work hours will occur during Monday-Friday, though special cleanup events, social events and training opportunities may occur Saturday and Sunday, as well as during weekday nighttime hours.

Pay: $34,000.00 - $36,000.00 per year
