PROPERTY MAINTENANCE INSPECTOR
Professional and/or technical position responsible for enforcement of the Property Maintenance Codes. Primary essential functions include but are not limited to: Inspects properties; investigates and issues notices and citations for noncompliance with the BOCA International Property Maintenance Code and City of Owensboro Nuisance Ordinances; maintains records of all business activities relating to Property Maintenance; interacts with members of public in execution of duties; attends and participates in hearings related to enforcement activities. Starting pay $17.15/hr; increasing to $18.02/hr upon satisfactory completion of training period, estimated to conclude after 6 months of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS (Required at time of application):
Associates Degree in Construction Technologies or related field or 3 yrs. experience in property and/or building inspection or maintenance, public relations, or law enforcement. Equivalent amount of education and/or work experience is acceptable. Valid driver’s license required. Building Inspector and/or Property Maintenance Inspector Certification desired, but not required.
