Facility Profile
The TGH Brandon Healthplex is Tampa General Hospital’s first comprehensive outpatient medical center and serves the Brandon and South Hillsborough County area. This four-story, 130,000 square foot facility has a free-standing adult and pediatric emergency department, ambulatory surgery center, imaging and lab services, pharmacy, outpatient rehabilitation, physician offices and a helipad. It is conveniently located by the Selmon Expressway, Interstate 75 and South Falkenburg Road.
Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Supervisor is responsible for providing clinical pharmacy services and supervising distribution services provided by the Pharmacy in a cost-effective manner, incorporating practice standards into daily operations, and continuously improving services to meet the needs of areas covered within assigned area. Other responsibilities include providing leadership by interviewing potential staff, scheduling, and completing staff performance evaluations, medication use management, staff education, and competency assessment. The Pharmacy Supervisor is also required to perform all duties of a registered pharmacist in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
• Education: Pharmacy Degree (PharmD or PhD) from an accredited college of pharmacy and completion of a pharmacy practice residency, fellowship, or equivalent experience.
• Licensure/Registration: Current license as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of Florida.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy including a minimum 2 years in a supervisory role.
