DACCO Behavioral Health, Inc. is searching for an enthusiastic individual to work as a Prevention Counselor with our Youth Services teams! The ideal candidate will have experience and desire to work with adolescents and flexibility with how services are delivered (in-person, web meetings, phone, etc.). Position Description:
As a Prevention Counselor you will work in school and community settings, with a focus on serving middle and high school youth. You will follow an evidence-based curriculum for patient sessions and work closely with school staff and referral sources in the community to obtain student referrals and provide services. You will facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, focused on teaching successful life skills tools to at-risk youth, and promote parent engagement, with a caseload of ~25 patients. You will also be responsible for scheduling patient sessions and coordinating care with school/community partners, daily documentation, weekly case reviews and monthly reports on each patient served.
This is a full-time opportunity, with flexible hours needed.
Position Requirements:
• Desire to work with at-risk youth and their families
• Full time availability, working school hours with flexibility to accommodate community and school events during evenings and weekends as needed
• Ability to meet quality standards and work independently
• Attention to detail, ambitious and goal-oriented
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Must be willing to travel to school and community sites throughout Hillsborough County
• All personnel are required to undergo a mandatory post-employment offer criminal background check
Required Experience:
• One to two years of related experience working with youth in a behavioral health/school setting
• Demonstrated experience in engaging with youth and their families to effectively facilitate change
• Experience with an electronic health record (EHR) and telehealth system preferred
Required Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field
• Bilingual- Spanish preferred
