JOB SUMMARY:
Resident Associate is responsible for enhancing and improving the SRI experience specifically in Heartful Care for our Residents and their Families. Demonstrates and promotes SRI's core value of the Golden Rule. Treating others (residents, families, visitors, and associates) in the manner we would like to be treated. Under general supervision, attends to all the daily living needs of residents; assist with ADL's, meal service, light housekeeping and laundry while encouraging resident independence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures that community goals and objectives are met or exceeded, including:
• Resident Services
• Quality Assurance
• Customer satisfaction
• Reports any resident changes to the Nurse on duty
• Supervise, assist or provide showers and baths
• Supervise, assist residents to dress/undress
• Serves residents daily meals in the dining room
• Provides daily assistance to residents with ADL's (Activities of Daily Living) if needed (grooming, peri-care, toileting etc)
• Responsible to initiate and participate in leisure activities provided to residents as described in the activities calendar
• Is always prepared with an activity that encourages/stimulates a resident’s social, physical, mental and sensory abilities
• Always maintains a clean, safe and orderly environment for all residents
• Performs minor daily general housekeeping duties following established cleaning schedules for bedrooms, dining area, common areas and bathrooms
• Changes bed linens a minimum once per week, or more often if needed
• Always ensures and supports a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors and associates
• Always responds promptly and courteously to resident’s request for assistance including phone calls and requests from family and friends
• Can effectively follow written and verbal instructions
• Answers telephone and greets visitors to the community
• Knows, understands and follows established policy and procedures
• Maintains a safe and secure working environment free of objects/situations that could cause harm and/or falls to residents, families, visitors and staff
• Always practices good body mechanics and safe working habits
• Observes and reports safety hazards immediately to supervisor
• Provides assistance to co-workers when requested or required
• Is considered essential personnel during emergencies and/or inclement weather
• Works as a team player with other associates and management in accomplishing work assignment
• Always demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies and procedures
• Always demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude with residents, families, visitors, associates and management
• Can apply the concepts of excellence in customer service and always conducts duties in a positive and friendly manner
• Demonstrates good decision-making skills and can understand the impact of his/her decisions
• Complies with SRI attendance and call off policy
• Attends and/or participates in trainings, in-service and mandatory meetings
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Performs all other reasonable duties as assigned or as requested
• Without asking, takes the initiative in work, seeks out additional information and offers solution/suggestion
• Willingly takes on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties
Additional Eligibility Requirement
• Hands-on experience in Assisted Living, Alzheimer’s, Memory Loss or Senior Health Care a plus
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, associates, residents and family members
• Must submit to and pass a drug test pursuant to Company Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes random testing
• Must submit to and pass a level 2 background screening
