Surgical Tech- Ambulatory Surgery Center- Tampa, Florida
The qualified Surgical Tech will be responsible for the following:
• Certified Surgical technicians are individuals with specialized education who function as members of the surgical team.
• Performs technical assistance during procedures performed in the operating room. Provides patient care within state and national standards of practice and policies and procedures of facility.
• Conveys a professional and positive image of USF Health.
Note: Must successfully demonstrate competencies within job position.
Position Requirements:
Educational Requirements:
Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technician program. Certification as a Surgical Technician required. May also be licensed as a LPN in the State of Florida. BLS certification required and must be maintained.
Experience Requirements:
Three years' experience in a peri-operative required. Ophthalmology experience preferred. Working knowledge and proficiency in electronic health record preferred.
Skill Requirements:
Knowledge of aseptic technique, anatomy, surgical procedures, and instrumentation. Must have good command of surgical procedures with the ability to hand and pass surgical instruments accurately and quickly.
Requirements reflect the minimum level necessary to be eligible for this position. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
