CARE COORDINATION SPECIALIST
JOB DESCRIPTION
Qualifications: Work experience in an administrative office and/or experience with coordination of staffing in a healthcare setting, preferred. MUST KNOW ENGLISH AND SPANISH
Reports to: Administrator or Designee
Duties:
• Staff cases: Matches appropriate employees to jobs that are called in by contracts, clients and others.
• Makes sure that all cases are covered. Arrange for substitute/back-up coverage as necessary.
• Assists with answering phones.
• Handles/resolves client and employee issues, problems and scheduling changes.
• Provides information about services to prospective contracts.
• Responsible for maintaining client files and keeping them up to date.
• Responsible for verifying authorization of services with payors.
• Serves as the point of contact for clients, and contracts.
• Counsels caregivers regarding attendance or performance issues. Make recommendations to Administrator regarding termination of caregivers.
• Works closely with bookkeeper to ensure that hours and pay rates are correct for payroll.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS; MACHINES AND/OR EQUIPMENT USED
· PC literacy required; MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
· Regularly required to operate standard office equipment (personal computer, photocopy machine, fax machine, etc.)
· Ability to work on a computer up to 7 hours a day.
· Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, and occasionally stand and walk.
· Regularly required to use hands to operate computer and other office equipment.
· Close vision required for computer usage.
· Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, climb and lift up to 25 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Standard office environment without unpleasant or hazardous conditions. Work entails typical physical demands involved in office work. May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
