HealthOps, a cornerstone in the Tampa Healthcare landscape for over a decade, is searching for a Provider Liaison Specialist to join our Member Services team. The Provider Liaison Specialist receives, investigates and responds to assigned provider inquiries and resolves problems and/or complaints in a timely and accurate manner.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Answers provider calls within established department standards
• Maintains regular contact with key provider organizations and serves as liaison to internally resolve complex issues
• Tracks all calls within the IKA database ensuring that documentation is concise and factual
• Researches and resolves incoming escalated provider inquiries within contract guidelines
• Responsible for maintaining working relationships with the existing provider network
• Participates in ongoing education programs as directed by the Supervisor
• Responsible for fully understanding all lines of business benefits, medical management processes, demographic change processes, and process for changing Primary Care Physicians (PCP)
• Maintains appropriate current source documents and reference documents
• Interacts professionally with providers, other employees, customers and suppliers
• Works effectively as a team contributor by completing assignments on time and in an accurate manner
• Works independently while communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations
• As required, re-directs calls to appropriate department
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience and Education:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• Minimum of six months to one-year related experience required or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including good grammar, voice and diction
• Able to read and interpret documents
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts
• Proficient in MS Office with basic computer and keyboarding skills
• Excellent customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful)
• Strong creative, analytical and investigative skills
• Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills
• Strong understanding of claims processes
