Dr. Conejo-Garcia Lab seeking a Lab Manager. The Ideal Candidate: Has a Bachelor#s degree in Biology and 5 years# experience working in a research science lab, conducting independent research projects. Organizational and computer skills to organize and maintain a 12-15 person laboratory. Have excellent communication skills. Responsibilities: Maintain, organize, and develop laboratory SOPs Manage the maintenance of laboratory databases Managing and generating multiple transgenic mouse colonies Maintain IACUC, IRB and MCC protocols and facilitate collaborations Supervise laboratory safety and certificates Train students and new personnel Managing the order of supplies and maintaining equipment for the laboratory Negotiate competitive pricing from companies on services required for research projects This position requires excellent skills in customer service. Work hand-in-hand with the PI to maintain a productive and enjoyable laboratory environment. Credentials and Qualifications: BA or BS in Scientific field with 5 years of related experience or Master#s degree with 2 years of required experience. Significant managerial experience required. Ability to conduct biological research experiments and analysis using scientific methods and techniques. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
