SANITATION MANAGER
Management position responsible for Sanitation Department operations, including but not limited to, safety sensitive positions regulated by the Dept. of Transportation, residential/commercial refuse, yard waste, and drop-off recycling. Ensures efficiency of operations through scheduling, etc.; Ensures safety and efficiency of vehicles by monitoring daily preventative maintenance for all trucks and vehicles, conducting inspections, ensuring vehicles are washed/cleaned, and reporting problem areas to Garage; Ensures maximum level of customer service is provided to sanitation customers, addresses complaints and requests for service; Assists in estimating/making requisitions for labor, supplies, and equipment; Investigates all vehicular or personal injuries and files accident reports; Assists in maintenance of the Owensboro Landfill. Starting pay $55,729/yr. Provided benefits include, but are not limited to; health insurance, group life insurance, wellness program, and CERS retirement through Kentucky Retirement Systems. Paid time off includes vacation, sick time, and holidays (for eligible employees).
QUALIFICATIONS (Required at time of application):
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or other job-related field, and minimum of 3 yrs. experience in public or private refuse collection business or operations supervising the routing of heavy trucks, and/or delivery and collection of commodities. Equivalent amount of education and/or experience is acceptable. Valid driver’s license required. CDL, Class B or higher and Kentucky Landfill Managers license required within 11 months of employment.
