The Salvation Army , an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Custodian located in Owensboro, KY.
Job Summary
Cleans and maintains the buildings and grounds to ensure the neatness and cleanliness of the same on a daily basis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to perform general maintenance and cleaning activities for buildings and grounds; Ability to follow instructions and work independently .
Education and Experience
No formal education or experience required, Six months experience performing general housekeeping duties, Or Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Ability to meet attendance requirements; Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language ; Ability to exert the physical energy required to performing housekeeping and minor maintenance work; Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and climbing; Work is performed in a normal office environment with some exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt and dust, and/or disagreeable sights and odors; Work requires driving a vehicle daily with exposure to the outdoors where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
