Summary of Position
Founded in 1901, ChildCareGroup’s (CCG) mission is to champion a strong early childhood system that teaches children and parents, trains early childhood professionals, and assists families.
The Resource Teacher serves as a team member in assigned classroom at specified ISD campus. Assists with planning and implementing programs for children. This position provides a learning environment that is safe, comfortable, and healthy in order to enhance the growth and development of each child. Additionally, this role is responsible for maintaining all program standards to include CCG, Head Start and TEA (Texas Education Agency) guidelines. The Resource Teacher serves as a substitute in the absence of CCG Teacher as needed. Works under general supervision of Manager of School Based Programs/and or Assistant Manager of School Based Program/ISD Principal with some demand for independent judgment and action.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Assists in planning, preparation and implementation of work with children appropriate to development level based on best practices for early childhood education.
• Becomes familiar with routine of each classroom in which he/she may work. Splits time between assigned classrooms. Relieves CCG teacher for lunch break daily. Assist CCG teacher with home visits.
• Assumes responsibility for daily classroom program in the absence of CCG Teacher. Shares responsibility of setting up room for daily activities as needed.
• Develops good relations with children and ISD staff. Responsible for developing positive relationships with co-workers. Serves as a team member in assigned classroom. Represents CCG to parents and co-workers.
• Requires the acquisition of knowledge and proficiency Child Plus Data Base within the introductory period of employment. ChildCareGroup will train the employee.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
• CDA required within one year of employment
• One year experience working with young children preferred
• Complete 24 hours of professional development per program year
• Must demonstrate desire to work with children ages 3-5, have general knowledge of child development
• Must demonstrate ability to work as a team member
• Must demonstrate good organizational skills and written and oral communication skills
• Must have ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, parents and center volunteers
• Regular and prompt attendance required
• Unquestioned integrity and commitment to uphold ChildCareGroup’s mission, vision and core values
Equipment
• Computer, telephone headset, fax, scanner and all office equipment and general office equipment
Travel and Compliance
• Must have a valid Texas driver's license
• Driving record must comply with CCG's automobile insurance carrier requirements
• Must have liability insurance coverage and reliable personal transportation
• Ability to travel locally or out of town as required
• Mileage reimbursement is offered when applicable
• Must successfully meet all compliance background check requirements for federal funding throughout employment
Physical Demands
• Work requires normal physical effort with minimal lifting requirements of items weighing 25 pounds or less

• Manual dexterity/coordination
