Swimming Pool Cleaning Technician

Description/Summary
The Pool Cleaning Technician is responsible for maintaining an assigned pool service route. Services include weekly cleaning, equipment maintenance, and minor equipment repairs. Maintains swimming pool water through routine maintenance of pool, equipment and water chemistry. Identifies and reports pool related issues to route manager.
Essential Functions
• Cleans swimming pools and maintains associated equipment for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary pool.
• Maintains swimming pools (e.g. chemical balance using chemicals and hazardous materials etc.) for the purpose of complying with safety and health requirements.
• Maintains records (e.g. chemical logs, hazardous materials inventory, etc.) for the purpose of complying with mandated requirements.
• Performs minor repairs to pool equipment (e.g. valves, automatic cleaner, filter) for the purpose of maintaining a safe and normal operating condition. Calibrates equipment as needed.
• Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks requiring proficiency in pool related plumbing, maintenance, chemical treatment, and water testing.
• Uses basic hand tools, lubrication equipment, meters, electric hand tools, water tester, pool vacuum, pool skimmer pole and water test kit
• Works independently/unsupervised
• Ability to swim
• Comfortable with household pets (dog, cats, etc.)
• Driving - company pick-up truck or utility van
• Regular and predictable attendance
Job Requirements/Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or GED required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: Previous pool service or industry experience preferred.
Skills: Proficient in customer service. Ability to work effectively unsupervised.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license with motor vehicle record in good standing required. CPO certification preferred.
Other: Must own a personal smart phone for required applications
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Fluctuating work week with typical work days Monday through Friday.
