The Sr. Network Systems Administrator is responsible for overall network support, this includes the ability to install, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), Voice over IP (VoIP) phone systems and Internet systems or a segment of a network system. Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and may perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. Perform network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for programming and deploying routers and switches to our branch offices.
• Provides first level support for routers and switches for branch offices.
• Troubleshoot branch office connectivity.
• Perform Moves-Adds-Changes on the phone systems and voicemail.
• Diagnose and resolve performance, connectivity and related network problems, including hardware, software, user access, VoIP phone system and wireless networks.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
• Open tickets with the network system vendors when necessary, perform the necessary user notification/follow up, and perform escalation steps when appropriate.
• Troubleshoot the malfunctioning telecommunications system and coordinate with vendors to dispatch locally if necessary.
• Perform call redirect service in the case of an outage.
• Provide first level network help desk support for branch offices during normal business hours and on call support as necessary.
• Consult with management regarding any malfunctions, problems, or potential upgrades of the network systems/circuits.
• Compliance with the existing policies/procedures, security evaluation, critical processes, and potential issues with network.
• Develop and maintain a two-year network plan detailing the growth, capacity planning, and potential changes to the environment.
• Communicate a complete, accurate status for all active projects underway to include the expected completion date, any delays, and a current completion percentage.
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is preferred
• 8+ years of Information Technology experience.
• 5+ years of experience in network infrastructure support.
• 3+ years of network design experience with knowledge of networking best practices.
• Experience with Cisco Call Manager/VoIP Systems.
• Experience with Cisco and Meraki networking equipment.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred.
• Cisco Flex WebEx knowledge preferred.
• Avaya Communication/VoIP system knowledge a plus.
• Asterisk knowledge a plus.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment.
• Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Must be a self-starter able to dive, resolve ambiguity, and achieve results.
• Must have high attention to detail with proven success in working with multiple stakeholders and managing and meeting deadlines.
• Background checks are part of the hiring process which may also include a Motor Vehicle Check.
