We're expanding! Swedish Match North America LLC, a manufacturer and marketer of well-known tobacco products, non-tobacco ZYN pouch products, as well as complementary products, is currently seeking a Logistics Specialist for the Owensboro, KY facility.
The successful candidate will provide cost and service effective transportation and warehousing for Swedish Match including inbound raw materials, outbound finished goods, and import/export of products.
Responsibilities Include:
• Recommend method of transportation (container, air freight, Express) and which carrier to use to meet customer requirements.
• Develop close relationship with broker providing paperwork and needed documents in order to clear customs and minimize time in transit.
• Review and authorize for payment the freight, duty and excise tax that is charged on each shipment. Enter for payment in the accounts payable system.
• Maintain documentation to meet United States Customs requirements based on the MOD Act of 1996 and new requirements that are changed each year.
• Maintain inventory records and daily reconciliation of inventory at outside warehouses.
• Work with carriers on all inbound replenishment and outbound shipments to our customers. Develop record of carrier performance and recommend changes as needed. Survey customers to make sure carriers are providing service as required.
Requirements
Education : Associates degree or equivalent experience.
Experience : Two plus years' experience in Distribution, Warehousing, or Transportation with an understanding of Import/Exporting preferred.
Skill/Specialized Knowledge : Strong computer skills and ability to multi-task is required. Ability to understand and follow the rules and regulations of U.S. Customs as well as Hazardous Materials.
