Job Summary:
Owensboro Community and Technical College is hiring a Director of Nursing to provide leadership and an innovative vision for the Nursing Program.  The Director of Nursing is reponsibhle for planning, budgeting, scheduling, staffing, curriculum, instructional quality, and program evaluation. The position will ensure teaching excellence, faculty and student engagement, partnership development, and student success in accordance with established regulations, accreditation standards, and the mission of Owensboro Community and Technical College.
Duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties/responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Direct the Nursing Program in accordance with the accreditation standards established by the Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) and the National League of Nursing (NLN).
• Provides leadership to ensure that learning activities, instructional materials, and evaluation methods are appropriate for all delivery formats and consistent with the student learning outcomes.
• Plan and organize the activities of the day-to-day operation of the nursing program; including supervising faculty/staff, and overseeing program budget.
• Provide leadership for program improvement, development, evaluation; review and recommend changes to maintain relevance of academic programs and to meet student, healthcare business and industry, workforce and community needs.
• Maintain open and effective communication lines among administrators, faculty, staff, students, and community stakeholders.
• Contact clinical sites to negotiate contracts and secure approvals for clinical placement.
• Promote the programs in the community and engage members of the healthcare community to gain insight about emerging nursing education and workforce needs.
• Ensure compliance and the timely submission of reports and documentation appropriate regulatory agencies, accrediting bodies, and/or State Board(s) of Nursing.
• Maintain current knowledge of trends and innovations in post-secondary education.
• Facilitate academic partnerships between the college and four-year transfer institutions.
• Deliver classes in accordance with policy and accreditation standards as needed.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) required; Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) preferred.
• Current, unencumbered Kentucky Registered nurse license.
• 3 - 5 years clinical experience as an RN.
• Experienced in alternative delivery and simulation lab preferred.
• Strong commitment to student success and team building.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
