POSITION TITLE: ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST FLSA: NON-EXEMPT
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Associate degree in accounting or training in bookkeeping/accounting required
• Two years' experience in Accounts Payable.
• Computer literate.
• Experience in data handling, report generation, and statistics required.
• Ability to type 60 wpm.
• Good communication skills.
• Must be able to work independently meeting deadlines and handle significant pressure.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
• Analyze accounts payable assuring a match between billing statements and evidence of actual receipt of items and/or services.
• Review all claims assuring that every effort is made to take advantage of discounts and pay claims on time to avoid penalties.
• Enter all invoices into a computerized A/P system and monitor A/P aging.
• Prepare check run weekly for all open invoices and provide supporting documentation to designated parties.
• Calculate travel reimbursements for all employees.
• Other duties as assigned.
